The Heavenly-Minded Slave

As we’ve looked at the heavenly-minded perspective God’s Word calls us to, we have seen many ways we are to avoid sin and pursue righteousness. We have also looked at roles within the household defining our actions and attitudes. Next we will look at the very difficult calling to behave in a godly manner even when in a station in life that seems to be the lowest possible place. In the ancient world, slavery was part of normal life, and Christians who were saved under bondage were given instructions that had significant impact for the evangelization of the world and for the contentment of the believer—even when mistreated.
