The Heavenly-Minded Wife

Having studied the heavenly mindset and motivation of the believer to live for the glory of Christ, the next section of Colossians 3 brings us to marriage, family, and relationships. The text begins with wives and moves to husbands, children, fathers and so on. We will look at women and men in two parts each—beginning with the biblical picture of those who lived with godly character, and moving to the biblical assessment of those whose examples are of “what not to do.” This should prove to be a rich examination of God’s ways over our culturally-defined or personality-driven concepts of femininity and masculinity. The true picture is glorious, leads to joy, and is worth pursuing.
