The Angel and the Answer

The answer to Daniel’s seismic prayer (of Daniel 9:4-19) comes by the mouth of an angel, “the man Gabriel,” whom God sent in response to the prophet. Gabriel will announce an affirmation of Daniel’s request for his people’s deliverance from exile (seen in Daniel 9:24-27, which we will study the following week). But even the scene of the angel’s arrival is an important part of our understanding for the entire chapter. We will investigate the doctrine of “angelology” as we learn about how God has revealed details of his holy angels—His messengers and ministers to His servants.
