God Prepares His People

We don’t often like to be told bad news about our circumstances, but biblically the bad news must come before the good news. That is true with salvation, where we must learn of our lostness because of our sin before we are willing to accept the remedy—faith in Christ. But in many places in Scripture, God foretells of future calamity in order to prepare His people for what’s ahead. That’s what He does in Daniel 8, and the bad news prepared the Israelites for Antiochus IV Epiphanes and also reminded them that his reign would be short-lived. Watch as we study this important passage where we learn how the Christian today serves the same God who has told us of calamities ahead, not to add stress to our life, but to maintain our hope for the future.
