The Glory of the Local Church
The local church is at once beautiful and mysterious, precious and misunderstood. When lost souls feel their sinful condition they often turn to the church with hopes of finding truth. But they don’t just land in the worldwide church—they enter the doors of a physical space with Bible-believing Christians and are met with the love of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After repentance and faith they become part of, and are accountable to this community, serving alongside other believers. But whether it has been due to the proliferation of livestream services, or parachurch ministries that blur the lines between the global and local nature of the body of Christ, the church seems to be misunderstood today. As a consequence it is vastly under-appreciated. Only a biblical view of the place of the local church will correct our confusion and bring us to see the local church in its blood-bought purpose and glory.
