The Birth of the Church

The birth of the church as a special institution is detailed for us in the book of Acts, but many do not know what really happened at that time. Why did the Messiah Jesus not restore the land promises and fulfill all things for Israel at that time? What was the emphasis of Christ after the cross and at the time of His ascension? Why do we associate Pentecost with the birth date for the New Testament church?
