The Dream of All Dreams
Having prayed to the God of heaven for insight, Daniel is shown the king's dream in all its splendor. Troubled as the king was without divine understanding, Daniel has praised God for granting him knowledge into the matter, and tells Nebuchadnezzar what it was that he dreamed. In this dream of all dreams, Nebuchadnezzar saw a magnificent statue and a destroying stone. Daniel will give the interpretation, but the dream itself was half of the demand from the king. If an interpreter wished to save his own life he must give both the dream and the interpretation. We look into this retelling of the dream, along with its interpretation, and determine through straightforward Bible interpretation the meaning of the text and its implications for believers—ancient and modern.
