Who Can Know My Dreams?

We have learned already in Chapter 1 of the steadfastness of faith evidenced by Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah when offered the choice food and drink of the king. Despite initial hesitation, the official overseeing their care permitted them to abstain and instead to eat a simpler diet. The result, remarkably, was that their health was better than that of all the others in the land of Babylon who were being trained for the king’s service. As we look now at Chapter 2, we see Daniel begin to take a leadership role among his fellow advisors to Nebuchadnezzar under intense life-and-death pressure, after the king has a disturbing dream. We will learn about prophetic dreams in the Bible and how to approach them and understand God’s intentions for them. Much that is said about dreams and visions is false or apocryphal in nature. We see how to avoid false teaching and aberrant interpretations of Scripture.
