Nebuchadnezzar the Nobody

In this fourth chapter of Daniel we find the pagan king Nebuchadnezzar exalting the Lord and acknowledging His rule over all. But amazingly, between the opening and ending paragraphs of the chapter we find the pride of the king of Babylon humbled to the ground in order to teach him this truth. If any believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is to be used mightily by Him in proclaiming the truth of Scripture, he will first be humbled by God to do so. Few will ever be humbled so dramatically as Nebuchadnezzar, but the purpose of God in doing so has wide application to men and women of all ages and occupations. God is God and He will not give His glory to another (Isa 42:8).
